Footwear with a smaller carbon footprint.

I was on the hunt for new shoes last winter. I had a brand in mind and I was determined to buy a pair right then. Then I saw them - shoes that looked like the ones I wanted but next to them was a sign about being eco-friendly. I picked up the shoe... definitely not the brand I originally sought out but the shoes were cute. "Simple." I googled it (as I google just about everything I want to know more about). I fell in love. I jumped with excitement! I put the shoes on and continued to jump with excitement. Cute AND comfortable AND environmentally friendly!

So here's the deal...

Simple Shoes is a company determined to make shoes (and now bags) in a sustainable way, using sustainable materials. Some of the materials used include recycled paper, recycled plastic, recycled inner tube, cork, hemp, organic cotton, bamboo, natural crepe rubber, wool, and coconuts.

My Simple shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Over the last year, I have worn them more often than any other shoe. They are a bit dirty but just as comfortable as they were when I first bought them.

Please go check out their website and tell me what you think! Mine are the Satire - hemp. They have boots, sandals, and sneakers for men, women, and kids!

Any shoes that stand out to you?
